Lobster Mac and Cheese

Rich, creamy, and absolutely indulgent

Lobster Mac and Cheese by Ina Garten, comfort food redefined. The creaminess of lobster meat with dunes of sharp cheddar and Gruyère cheese, this is the regular mac and cheese gourmet.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb cavatappi pasta
  2. 1 quart milk
  3. 8 tbsp unsalted butter
  4. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  5. 12 oz Gruyère cheese, grated
  6. 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  7. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  8. 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  9. 1 1/2 pounds cooked lobster meat, cut into chunks
  10. 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumbs

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cook pasta to al dente; set aside.
  2. Warm the milk in a small saucepan over low heat. In a large pot, melt 6 tablespoons of butter then whisk in flour for 2 minutes.
  3. Whisking slowly, add hot milk to the pot and cook until slightly thickened. Then remove from heat and add cheeses, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Add in the cooked pasta and lobster meat. Transfer the mix into a buttered baking dish.
  5. Melt the remaining butter mix it with breadcrumbs and sprinkle on top of the dish.
  6. Bake until bubbly sauce and golden brown bread crumbs for 30-35 minutes.
  7. This Lobster Mac and Cheese is indulgent, good for special nights or to indulge in a more gourmet twist on a classic favorite.
