Biography:

Celebrity Chef Ray Lampe “Dr. BBQ” is a grilling and barbeque expert, a bestselling cookbook author, television personality, and cooking consultant. Chef Lampe got his start in the culinary industry competing in BBQ cook-off competitions over thirty years ago. The truck driver turned BBQ chef has written five cookbooks entitled The NFL Gameday Cookbook: 100 Recipes to Feed the Hungriest Fan From Preseason to the Super Bowl; Ribs, Chops, Steaks, and Wings; Dr. BBQ’s Big Time Barbecue Road Trip; Dr. BBQ’s Big-Time Barbecue Cookbook; and Dr. BBQ’s Barbecue All Year Long. Ray Lampe also serves as celebrity chef spokesperson for The National Pork Board. In 2013, he joined Celebrity Chef Michelle Bernstein and a group of food bloggers in contributing recipes for the first ever National Pork Board’s “Cooking For Comfort” e-Cookbook.

Throughout his cooking career, Chef Ray Lampe has appeared on several Food Network cooking shows including The Ultimate BBQ Showdown, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Tailgate Warriors with Guy Fieri, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and CBS Sports’ Ultimate BBQ Showdown. In 2012 he competed in the Grill Masters themed competition on the hit Food Network series Chopped. Competing against fellow Barbecue enthusiasts, Chef Ray “Dr. BBQ” Lampe wowed the judges, celebrity chefs Aaron Sanchez, Amanda Freitag, and Marc Murphy, winning the round and advancing on to the Grill Masters finale. Chef Lampe has also made appearances on other networks including HGTV, The NFL Network, The Howard Stern Show, CNN, CBS, E! News and more. He has also graced the pages of publications including USA Today, Everyday with Rachael Ray, Life Magazine, People Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and The Chicago Tribune, to name a few.
