Daisy Martinez

Brooklyn native Daisy Martinez knows a thing or two about the flavorsome palates and succulent tastes of the Spanish speaking world; after all, she was born to two Puerto Rican parents and has extensive familial connections all over Spain, Central America, and South America. Before she was a celebrity chef, Daisy acted and modeled in commercials, feature films, and print ads for notable companies such as AT&T and Ford. However, her dream came true when she took up her culinary studies at the French Culinary Institute and began training as a prep foods chef under Lidia Bastianich, Italian expert and mother to celebrity chef Joe Bastianich.

In 2005, Celebrity Chef Speaker Daisy’s big break came when she landed her own television show entitled Daisy Cooks! on PBS. Along with her series came her corresponding cookbook, Daisy Cooks! Latin Flavors that Will Rock Your World, which went on to win the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for Best Latino Cuisine Cookbook in the World. Just a few years later Daisy crossed paths with Rachael Ray and her production company, and it was not long before Daisy’s new show, Viva Daisy! was launched on Food Network. The fun and lighthearted series played on Daisy’s affable personality and her love for life, her family, and food; her first show in Spanish, BORICUAS!, premiered on the Fox Mundo Network.

In addition to being a television personality and host, she has served as a contributor to widely read magazines Everyday with Rachael Ray, Siempre Mujer, Ser Padre, and Selecciones; she is also the author of two more award winning cookbooks, Daisy: Morning, Noon, and Night, and Daisy’s Holiday Cooking.

Perhaps the only thing closer to Daisy’s heart besides cooking is her family and heritage. One of Daisy’s greatest joys is being a mother to her four children and supporting the Latino community. She has worked with charitable organizations such as such as The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, The American Cancer Society, and New York Fire Department Museum Cook-Off.

Chuck Hughes

In the evolving world of celebrity chefs, there are a wave of new stars in the industry and Chuck Hughes is one of the leaders.  Chuck entered the food industry as an assistant chef with a dream and has since risen to one of the most prominent culinary figures in the United States.  His rise to fame has been centered on his success in the Greater Montreal market with a slew of food related business ventures.

Celebrity Chef Chuck Hughes is known for his signature French cuisine, which is deep-rooted in his French-Canadian heritage.  Growing up in the bilingual city of Montreal exposed Hughes to the intricacies of multiple cultures and culinary styles on a daily basis.  Hughes is a proud co-owner of two of the most popular restaurants in Old Montreal called Garde Manger and Le Bremner.  Both restaurants feature some of the best fancy French Cuisine in a city that is characterized by its French influence.  In addition to his restaurants, Hughes has gained a reputation for his appearances on television both in Canada and the United States.  He first hosted his show Chuck’s Day Off, which was featured on the Food Network in Canada and The Cooking Channel in the United States.   This paved the way for Hughes’ later television series’ Chuck’s Week Off and Chuck’s Eat the Street and the Canadian version of Chopped.  Both of these currently air on The Cooking Channel.  Chuck also was featured on the American Iron Chef American Competition where he defeated the well-known Bobby Flay.  He became the Canadian chef to win the competition.

Away from the kitchen, Hughes has been involved in a variety of events for charity.  He has performed cooking demonstrations for the Prince Margaret hospital foundation, and in July of 2014 he made pancakes for the city of Montreal in exchange for donations to the OneXOne charity.

April Bloomfield

Chef April Bloomfield has become one of the top chefs in America, most famous for winning two Michelin stars for her restaurants in New York City, The Spotted Pig and The Breslin. But before this celebrity chef speaker became known in the U.S., she got her start cooking overseas, in her home country of England.  Her first big gig was cooking for royalty at Kensington Palace.  She then went on to work at Bibendum, which is considered one of the finest restaurants in London.  After success at Kensington and Bibendum, she moved on to the River Café where she worked under renowned chefs Ruth Rogers and Rose Gray, which she credits to much of her culinary success later in life. It was during her time at The River Café that she was scouted by American Chef Mario Batali.  Looking for an experienced chef to open a bistro-style restaurant in New York City, Chef Batali gave Bloomfield the job, and she moved to the Big Apple in the fall of 2003 where she opened her first restaurant, The Spotted Pig.  The restaurant took off, quickly building a reputation for its fine eats.  Just two years after opening, the bistro won a Michelin Star, one of the highest honors in the culinary industry. This achievement made Bloomfield one of ten female chefs in the United States to ever win a Michelin Star. Chef Bloomfield then opened her second restaurant in New York, located in the Ace Hotel, called The Breslin. This restaurant did not fall short of expectations, as it followed in the footsteps of The Spotted Pig, winning a Michelin Star.  Celebrity chef speaker April Bloomfield is also known by many for defeating the famed Chef Michael Symon in Iron Chef America, in which she also set a record for achieving the highest score of any single challenger in the history of the show.
